About the MHI National Communities Council

The Manufactured Housing Institute’s National Communities Council was formed in 1996 to provide owners and managers of manufactured home communities a forum for establishing policies and programs to enhance manufactured home communities nationwide. The NCC accomplishes its mission through education, promotion of professional management practices, market-based initiatives and sound regulatory and legislative reform.

The NCC is a leader—-it impacts the legislative and regulatory issues of importance to manufactured home communities. Since its inception the NCC has left its mark on a number of important community issues, including the Housing for Older Persons Act (HOPA); occupancy standards; satellite dish and antenna regulations; EPA water monitoring and reporting requirements; bankruptcy reform; mailbox regulations; electric utility restructuring; and private property rights.

The NCC serves as a clearinghouse for information of interest to manufactured home community owners, managers and service providers. This information is provided through a weekly electronic update called Just the Facts and a quarterly e-newsletter called Community Connections.
